Orkes Raises US$60M Series B to Scale Production-Grade AI Orchestration
Vertex Holdings05 May 2026Orkes, the agents and durable workflow orchestration platform built by the original architects of Netflix's microservices orchestration system, has raised US$60 million in Series B funding to accelerate adoption of its platform among developers building and deploying AI applications in production. The round was led by AVP, with participation from new and existing investors including Vertex Ventures US.
The Santa Clara-based company has tripled its customer base since its US$20 million Series A in 2024, building a global community of hundreds of thousands of developers with millions of installs. Its enterprise customer roster now includes LinkedIn, Twilio, Quest Diagnostics, United Wholesale Mortgage, Woodside Energy, Naveo Commerce, and one of the world's largest global retailers.
Closing the AI Execution Gap
Orkes addresses one of the biggest challenges holding back enterprise AI adoption: moving AI agents and applications from prototype to reliable, large-scale production. While Gartner projects global AI software spending will reach approximately US$450 billion in 2026, McKinsey research shows that the majority of enterprises remain stuck in pilot mode. Orkes provides the orchestration, observability, and governance layer that enables developers to confidently deploy AI workloads in mission-critical environments.
"Developers need orchestration, controls, and visibility to run advanced AI and agentic systems with confidence," said Jeu George, Co-founder and CEO of Orkes. "The trust we're seeing from both the developer community and global enterprises reinforces the role Orkes plays as the missing orchestration layer that makes AI highly reliable, observable, and governable."
Built on Battle-Tested Foundations
Orkes' underlying open-source technology, Conductor, was originally built at Netflix to power the company's hypergrowth to global scale, and continues to support Netflix today — where internal usage has grown fivefold in recent months. The Conductor project is also used by Fortune 100 organisations including JP Morgan Chase, Tesla, Atlassian, Oracle, American Express, and GE Healthcare.
Over the past four years, Orkes has extended this proven foundation to AI and agentic systems. Its current platform capabilities include:
- Agentspan, an open-source durable runtime for AI agents that execute on Conductor's proven orchestration engine
- Agentic Workflows, which blend structured process stages with LLM-driven decisions, tool use, and human-in-the-loop capabilities
- MCP Gateway, which turns internal APIs into safe, consistent tools that agents and LLMs can use right away
- Prompt-to-Workflow, which converts natural language into a starter workflow that developers can review, edit, and ship quickly
Naveo Commerce, an end-to-end European commerce platform, uses Orkes to power dynamic fulfilment and adaptive orchestration across a volatile global supply chain, with AI agents autonomously monitoring inventory, detecting disruptions, and resolving issues in real time. Naveo Commerce's CEO said that their "partnership with Orkes will redefine how order and warehouse management is delivered for the next decade".
Fresh Capital to Accelerate Enterprise AI Adoption
The new funding will support Orkes' continued investment in its platform and developer community as enterprises scale their use of agentic AI in production environments.
